A secure payment page means that the web page where credit card numbers areĀ entered is secured via Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 128 bit encryption. In a DHS – Our customers need to be able to see that your website is protecting their sensitive details! If you’re working directly with a web developer or shopping card provider, they will likely help you take care of this aspect of the website inspection.

You can check to see if your pay page is secure by right-clicking anywhere on the payment page, selecting ā€œpropertiesā€ and choosing ā€œdetails.ā€ The details will list the encryption/security, and you’re looking to see if ā€œSSLā€ is listed as the security type. If you’re using a ā€œBuy-it-Nowā€ button from Authorize.net, then you’re already covered. That’s because your gateway provider is handling the security of the payment page on your behalf.Ā Another way to check is to see if the URL of your pay pageĀ starts with ā€œHTTPSā€ – if so, you have a secure site!Ā If you don’t have a secure site, you can purchase an SSL certificate from companies likeĀ RapidSSL.Ā
