FAQs
Is velvet a practical choice for dining chairs?

Yes. Velvet gives dining chairs a soft, comfortable finish and works well for everyday dining when cared for properly. Spills should be dealt with promptly, as velvet is not as wipe-clean as leather or plastic seating.
Are velvet dining chairs difficult to maintain?

Not particularly, but they need gentler care than hard-surface chairs. Regular light vacuuming or brushing helps remove dust and crumbs, while spills should be blotted quickly rather than rubbed into the fabric.
What is the safest way to clean velvet dining chairs?

Start by blotting spills with a clean, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a product suitable for velvet upholstery and always follow the care instructions supplied with the chair. Avoid soaking or aggressively scrubbing the fabric.
What should be done if food or drink is spilt on the velvet?

Blot the spill rather than rubbing or soaking the fabric, then follow the upholstery care instructions. Heavy scrubbing can affect the velvet pile, so a gentler approach is better.
Are the seats soft or quite firm?

These velvet dining chairs have three layers of 25.3kg/m³ medium-firm foam, so the feel is supportive rather than very soft or sink-in. The curved padded back also gives support when sitting upright through meals.
Will all four chairs fit comfortably around an existing dining table?

Each chair is 44cm wide, but the space between the table legs matters more than the overall tabletop width. Measure the usable space between the legs and allow some room between neighbouring chairs before ordering.
Will the footpads stop the metal legs from marking hard floors?

The footpads reduce direct metal-to-floor contact and help give the legs more grip on hard flooring. They should not be treated as a guarantee that a floor can never be marked.
Do the slim legs make the chairs feel less stable?

No. The slim profile is mainly visual; the 1.2mm metal legs taper, giving the chair a light look while providing a stable, sturdy base for everyday dining.
Are the chairs easy to assemble at home?

Yes. They arrive flat packed with labelled parts and clear instructions, with the legs and fixings needing to be fitted before use.
Can the chairs be used somewhere other than around a dining table?

Yes. Their armless shape makes them easy to use as occasional seating at a desk or dressing table, as well as in a dining room or kitchen diner.
